Øvre Kjekshus is a fully operative farm and home to farmer, hotel owner and food producer Olav Lie-Nilsen as well as over 500 happy cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, cats and the Shepherd dog, Ylva.

The farm is part of the great food adventure created by Olav Lie-Nilsen around Thorbjørnrud Hotel. It provides the hotel restaurant with all its meat, thousands of eggs and a fair bit of vegetables. There are also Kjekshus' cattle grazing on the outlying pasture and providing milk for the hotel cheese factory.
